Blend's 50-state-licensed 503A pharmacy in Columbus, Ohio prepares patient-specific compounded medications—oral, topical, intravaginal, rectal, nasal, and ophthalmic—from bases crafted from scratch.
Commercial medications
Alongside compounds, Blend dispenses commercial medications for hormone therapy, thyroid, contraception, fertility, sexual health, hair loss, and metabolic care—from estradiol patches, gels, and vaginal suppositories to levothyroxine, desiccated thyroid, hCG, sildenafil, tadalafil, finasteride, dutasteride, and metformin. That includes Schedule III and IV controlled substances such as testosterone cypionate and phentermine. Patients get their full regimen from one pharmacy, and you manage one partner instead of several.
503B injectables
Blend dispenses injectables made by FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facilities, including glutathione, methylcobalamin, MICC, testosterone cypionate, and nandrolone decanoate. They're ordered, tracked, and invoiced the same way as everything else you send Blend.
Nationwide mail-order fulfillment
Blend ships directly to patients' doors in all 50 states and D.C., including controlled substances. Orders turn around in under 24 hours on average and arrive in packaging branded to your brand or clinic.
Pharmacy API and Dashboard
Send electronic prescriptions, create patients, and track every order from e-prescription receipt to delivery through the Blend REST API or the web Dashboard. Webhooks and proactive stuck-order alerts let your team fix problems immediately, or automatically, without calling the pharmacy.
Reconcilable invoicing and reporting
Blend generates automated invoices accurate to the cent. Reports cover utilization, turnaround, replacement rate, financials, and prescribing patterns across your organization.

The team behind Blend
Blend's co-founders spent years on the customer side of compounding pharmacy: Ben and Ryan built teledermatology brand Apostrophe through its acquisition by Hims & Hers, while Dan ran pharmacy operations at Hims & Hers, 9amHealth, and Curexa. What is a 503A compounding pharmacy?
A 503A pharmacy prepares compounded medications for individual patients based on a valid, patient-specific prescription from a licensed prescriber. Blend is a state-licensed 503A pharmacy, so it does not compound for office use.
Which states does Blend ship to?
Blend ships to all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, and holds an active pharmacy license in each one. U.S. territories are not included. See the full list on the licensing page.
Can Blend dispense controlled substances?
Yes. Every Blend license includes controlled-substance authority, and Blend can ship controlled substances when they're prescribed by a state-licensed prescriber with an active DEA registration. Blend is certified for electronic prescriptions for controlled substances (EPCS) under DEA 21 CFR Part 1311.
How fast does Blend ship prescriptions?

How does Blend protect patient data?
Blend follows security practices aligned with HIPAA and SOC 2 frameworks, encrypts data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), and logs every access to protected health information. Details are on the security page.
Are compounded medications FDA-approved?
No. Compounded preparations are not FDA-approved, and the FDA has not evaluated them for safety, efficacy, or quality. They require a valid patient-specific prescription from a licensed prescriber.
